Dairygold awarded Origin Green Gold Membership
Dairygold is delighted to have been awarded Gold Membership status of Bord Bia’s Origin Green programme. The Origin Green programme enables Irish companies to prove and share their sustainability credentials on an ongoing basis to trade customers and other key stakeholders. Dairygold achieved its Gold Membership status by demonstrating an overall exceptional performance against its targets in its sustainability plan.
Dairygold’s Origin Green plan works to reduce its environmental impact and enhance its societal contribution by focusing on four pillars of sustainability, which are the environment, the supply chain, people, and the community. Dairygold’s milk suppliers proudly maintain 100% SDAS certification and continue to progress implementation of sustainable farming practices, with the ambitious target to source 100% of its key ingredients by 2025 sustainably. Throughout 2021, significant progress was made by the company under this target, and 85% of the company’s key ingredient suppliers had sustainability certifications exceeding their 75% milestone by 10%.The company is also committed to planting half a million trees by 2030,and in the year 2021, 40,000 trees were planted.
