    Co-Op Super Stores are seeking to hire experienced retail professionals for Carrigaline, Co. Cork.

    Retail Sales Assistants report to the respective branch manager and work as part of a cohesive team to achieve maximum sales through the delivery of excellent customer service.

    Core responsibilities for this role include:

    • Delivering best in class service to our customers including expert advice on our products.
    • Dealing with all customer queries including telephone queries, in an efficient and professional manner.
    • Restocking display areas on a regular basis to ensure product availability at all times.
    • Maintaining the highest standards of store presentation and cleanliness including shop floor, garden centre and display areas.
    • Managing point of sale processes, including cash, card & credit transactions.
    • Adhering to policies and procedures for the security of cash and merchandise.
    • Participating in regular stock taking including daily cycle counting and stock counts.
    • Flexibility across a range of departments.
    • Product coding, pricing and updating of prices on goods for re-sales.
    • Adherence to all Society policies & procedures, Health & Safety procedures and reporting of any hazards to the Branch Management.

    Candidates for this position should have:

    • Previous relevant experience in Retail / Warehousing or Agri.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • A keen customer focus
    • An ability to work on own initiative
    • A valid forklift licence is an advantage

  • Engineering Manager, Food Ingredients Division, Leeds, United Kingdom

    As the number one cheese ingredient solutions supplier to the UK’s major food manufacturers, retailers and food service customers DFI UK have achieved rapid, double digit growth over the last five years and have ambitious plans for this to continue.

    DFI Leeds is a highly automated manufacturing facility producing 9,000t soft and cultured dairy products annually. With a sophisticated SCADA operating system and significant investment into our plant machinery, robust engineering support is vital to minimise downtime, enhance performance and improve efficiencies. We pride ourselves on our BRC A Grade and ISO 14001 standards which we retain through maintenance of our site policies and strict adherence to Health & Safety requirements.

    To drive this engineering support and continue to develop our high standards, we now have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager. Reporting into the Operations Manager, this role will manage the Engineering team to ensure that building, plant and equipment is serviced, maintained and operationally safe. The role holder will be a key member of the site management team, with full accountability for the site’s facilities and Health & Safety standards including control of contractors and permits to work.

    Key Responsibilities will include:

    • Develop and implement a PPM schedule to ensure all plant and equipment is fit for purpose
    • Develop and drive a programme of TPM that supports efficiency gains and up-skills colleagues
    • Monitor and manage daily priorities of team of Shift Engineers
    • Monitor and ensure breakdown issues are resolved as quickly and cost effectively as possible
    • Record all weekly downtime, monitoring machine issues and closing out corrective actions
    • Control contractors, completing permits and observing insurance and H&S requirements
    • Maintain, update and communicate relevant Engineering policies and procedures
    • Forecast annual budget for engineering and manage activity and stock levels within budget Work closely with Shift Engineers and production to support with machine training
    • Support capital investment projects and project manage defined projects as required
    • Continually assess and identify improvement initiatives to support engineering development

    Who are we looking for?

    You will have significant post apprenticeship experience, ideally gained in food manufacturing and supported by BTEC or C&G qualification in an appropriate discipline (Electrical Systems, Electrical Control, Faultfinding and Mechanical Engineering). You’ll also have experience of developing a programme of TPM and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of lean manufacturing and CI.

    A clear and professional communicator with experience of successfully managing a shift team, you will be proactive in upskilling colleagues to optimise machine performance. You will demonstrate enthusiasm and forward planning skills with a drive to resolve problems quickly and efficiently. With a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, you’ll be comfortable recording and analysing data to present to peers and senior colleagues to drive improvements on site.

  • Agri Manager, Retail Division, Dairygold Co-op Superstores, Mallow, Co. Cork

    The Society wishes to invite applications for the upcoming opportunity of Agri Manager, Mallow. Applications are invited from experienced retail professionals with a proven track record of achievement in a busy Agri trading environment, with proven ability in the management of retail sales, costs and all associated activities. This is a full supervisory role including keyholder duties & all activities related to overall site management. The successful candidate will proactively support the Branch Manager in the day-to-day overall operations of the site in order to deliver on agreed objectives.

    Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Control and analyse sales performance for the Agri section against budget so that store targets and Key Performance Indicators are met and exceeded.
    • Lead a motivated, engaged & enabled sales team within the Agri section.
    • Deliver on our commitment to excellence in customer experience.
    • Support the efficient and cost-effective delivery of service to maximise sales.

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Strong Agri product knowledge is a prerequisite for this role, a relevant qualification is beneficial but not essential.
    • A proven track record of delivering an excellent customer experience with an understanding of how this drives sales and affects the bottom line.
    • A keen understanding of our business with strong commercial awareness / business acumen.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, people management and leadership skills.

  • Marketing Executive ( fixed-purpose contract – Maternity Leave cover), Retail Division, Lombardstown, Co. Cork

    The Society wishes to invite applications for fixed-purpose (Maternity Leave cover) contract of Marketing Executive. The Marketing Executive will work closely with the Marketing Manager and Marketing team to ensure the successful execution of campaigns in line with the marketing plan and budget in order to drive sales both instore and online. The successful candidate will be based in Lombardstown, Mallow, Co. Cork.

    The successful candidate will have:

    • A 3rd level marketing qualification
    • Proficiency in MS Office is essential
    • Visual Communications or Graphic Design qualification an advantage
    • 5+ years role-related competence, ideally in retail
    • An ability to implement effective online and offline marketing campaigns
    • An ability to roll out promotions across a network of stores in a timely and effective manner based on a promotions calendar, while adhering to brand guidelines
    • A proven track record of strong organisational skills, an ability to prioritise tasks and to focus on and meet task deadlines
    • Strong Interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and the ability to build & maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders including Stores, Finance, Retail Operations & Merchandising teams

    Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Roll-out of the annual marketing plan which includes media buying, development of creative campaigns in conjunction with external agencies, ensuring deadlines are met and effective roll-out to stores while also ensuring that marketing spend is in line with agreed marketing budgets
    • Provide post campaign improvement recommendations to be leveraged for future campaigns
    • Development, design and implementation of all in-store marketing communications including co-ordination of ordering, allocating and delivery of promotional material to the stores
    • Liaising with the extended team and with external agencies including design agencies, PR consultants and printers to ensure all Point-of-Sale material is implemented and effective, delivering a clear value message to customers
    • Responsible for the collation of content for monthly newsletters and the co-ordination of design, layout and print of same
    • SMS Marketing which includes maintaining and growing the customer database in line with GDPR rules and regulations. Timely communications to customers via this channel
    • Provide administrative back-up & support to all aspects of the marketing function
    • Support in PR, event management and content writing for digital marketing & social media
    • Support in sponsorship campaigns – ensuring maximum brand exposure for Co-Op Superstores
    • Ensuring corporate branding and brand guidelines are reflected in all communications
    • Managing and co-ordinating the marketing portfolio of branded products for retail stores and events
    • Responsible for weekly reporting on marketing activities
