  • Agri Sales Support Advisor FP Contract, Agri-Business, Lombardstown, Mallow, Co. Cork

    The Society wishes to invite applications for the vacancy of Agri Sales Support Advisor. Applications for this position are invited from energetic and ambitious persons who want to work in a successful, customer-orientated team. The successful candidate will work as a key part of the Inside Sales and Marketing Function to grow sales in conjunction with our field-based team through proactive engagement and technical support across our customers and suppliers.

    This role will be based in Lombardstown, Mallow, Co. Cork and report to the Inside Sales and Marketing Team Leader.

    Please note this is a Fixed-Purpose contract for the purpose of Maternity Leave cover and is expected to end in November 2019.

     The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

    Communicating professionally and effectively with staff, customers, clients and suppliers.

    • Be a key technical support to the field sales team & work closely with them to achieve objectives.
    • Possess the relevant technical knowledge to better serve our co-op members through animal nutrition, grassland management, crop agronomy and other key areas as required.
    • Attend and participate in Technical Training events.
    • Proactively offer “best fit” solutions to customers in relation to their farming needs.
    • Provide flexible coverage of inbound calls while providing “best in class” customer service experience to all customers
    • Actively partake in all feed, fertiliser and farm requisites seasonal campaigns to drive sales & revenue for Dairygold while supporting the Field Sales Team in specifically targeting their relevant customers.
    • Achieve determined metrics in relation to outbound call campaigns and input on our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) System.
    • Administration duties including preparation of reports, presentations and business correspondences.
    • Communicating professionally and effectively with staff, customers, clients and suppliers.
    • Ensuring that this role is carried out pro-actively with energy, commitment, professionalism and discretion, quickly adapting to the position, with an eye for attention to detail.

     

    Applicants for this position must:

    • Possess a Third Level (L8) Agricultural Science Qualification or in a related field.
    • Be proficient in MS Office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of software including CORE POS, CRM, WordPress, Oracle EBIZ and Oracle reporting tool are a distinct advantage.

    As the UK’s largest cheese and dairy-based ingredients supplier we are looking for an ambitious, talented Head of Regulatory to join our UK Senior Leadership team based in Crewe.     Who are we looking for?
    You will have significant and demonstrable experience within a senior management Technical role with experience of the food industry essential, ideally within dairy / cheese manufacture and composition.   • Production Manager (Nights), Food Ingredients Division, Crewe, Creshire, United Kingdom

    As the number one cheese ingredient solutions supplier to the UK’s major food manufacturers, retailers and food service customers we’ve achieved rapid, double digit growth over the last five years and ambitious plans for this to continue. ‘AA’ Grade BRC accredited, we’ve invested heavily in systems and plant infrastructure with high speed grating and slicing capability producing over 400mt weekly.

    With two Front Line Managers and a production team of approximately 30, you will lead your team to deliver against all operational KPIs including labour, waste, OEE, GMP and RFT.  You’ll support and drive operational improvements and contribute to cost saving initiatives and ensure a disciplined approach is adopted in all production activity, addressing non-conformances as required. This role will be a fixed term contract to backfill an internal secondment, with a possibility of becoming permanent.

    Key activities will include:

    • Manage all shift requirements in line with Engineering, H&S, Cost and Quality standards.

    Who are we looking for?

    A ‘hands-on’ Manager you’ll have relevant FMCG production management experience, in Food.  You will be fully conversant with the technical standards and controls required to meet rigorous food safety requirements and will evidence how you have developed your team to adopt an ‘audit ready’ approach.

    It is essential that you are system orientated, with experience of Oracle/ERP/WMS or similar and you will evidence using these internal systems to maintain accurate records, interrogate performance data and develop more effective reporting.  Experience of Continuous Improvement approaches including 5S, Visual Management, Problem Solving and One Point Lessons would be ideal, demonstrating your ability to lead and develop your team to get the best possible results.

  • Factory Planner, Food Ingredients Division, Crewe, Cheshire, United Kingdom

    With a £80m+ spend on raw materials and 400t of factory production capability, effective forecasting, planning and scheduling are paramount at DFI Crewe. With over 300 SKUS across 7 production lines, ensuring the right product is available and produced to meet customer expectations is essential.

    Reporting to the Planning Manager, as one of two Factory Planners you will be responsible for preparing daily and weekly production schedules.  Working closely with all Operational departments you will keep abreast of orders and amends, raw material availability, production progress and transport to ultimately deliver on time in full to our valued customers.

    Key activities will include:

    • Prepare daily and weekly production schedules
    • Optimise production runs in relation to changeovers, waste, labour and raw material
    • Download stocks, sales and demand data to validate current position
    • Make daily amends to plan as required
    • Re-plan and issue to factory both immediate and forward plans
    • Deal with availability issues that might impact on schedule and identify options and solutions
    • Ensure all raw materials / consumables are in the right place at the right time to achieve plan

    Who are we looking for?

  • Shift Engineers. Food Ingredients Division, Crewe, United Kingdom

    Day Shifts (6am-2pm / 10am-6pm) and Fixed Nights (6pm–6am; 3 on / 3 off rotation)

    Engineering support is vital to ensure production downtime is minimized, machine performance is continually enhanced and improved efficiencies are achieved on the line. With this in mind we have reviewed our Engineering structure and created new opportunities for engineers to join the team at Crewe. We have one vacancy for rotating 6am-2pm / 10am-6pm, Monday to Friday and 3 vacancies for 6pm-6am over a 3 on / 3 off night shift pattern.

    Key Responsibilities will include:

    •  Carry out planned preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
    • Ensure that equipment is fit for purpose on a shift / daily basis. Attend breakdowns as necessary, to support continuous production.  Monitor and document line downtime and breakdowns
    • Complete a robust shift handover with the alternate shift engineer and ensure critical issues are raised to minimise disruption to operational performance
    • Support production with machinery setup and carry out repairs to machinery
    • Control activities of contractors on site, completing permits to work and relevant documentation
    • Ensure plant and equipment is operated and operating in the correct manner in line with H&S
    • Re-order spare parts and materials as necessary to ensure that stock levels are maintained
    • Work on capital projects as required and complete all engineering activities in line with plan

     

    Who are we looking for?

    You will need significant post apprenticeship experience with an electrical bias, ideally gained in food manufacturing and supported by BTEC or C&G qualification in an appropriate discipline (Electrical Systems, Electrical Control, PLCs, Faultfinding and Mechanical Engineering).

    Some experience of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques and approaches within an engineering environment would be ideal. Proactive with high levels of initiative and a drive to resolve problems quickly and efficiently, you will be comfortable working independently or as part of a team.   • Site Manager, Agri Division, Mogeely, Co. Cork

    The Society wishes to invite applications for the vacancy of Agri Site Manager, Mogeely Co. Cork. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and delivering optimal delivery of operational standards across the site through the achievement of commercial targets on grain, feed, fertiliser, farm requisites and hardgoods. The Agri Site Manager will lead a customer focused team across grain and retail to fully deliver the required services and support the business and its stakeholders & will report into the Retail Area Manager.

    Grain Operations – Devise, plan and implement with the site grain operations team a harvest plan in conjunction with all stakeholders including the Head of Grain and Milling at Lombardstown Mill. Oversee the grain operations on site including the intake, treatment, and drying at harvest time to optimise the throughput of the milling and grain operations. Manage the delivery of grain from the site as well as the business to business customers. Communicate regularly with all departments on the production and management of the milling operations
    Health & Safety Management – Ensure environmental controls and legislative compliance are maintained across the entire site. Direct and supervise all safety initiates. Ensure all personnel are adequately trained in all health and safety operations.
    Site Maintenance and Continuous improvement – Ensure a scheduled maintenance plan is adhered to. Monitor and review the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimise unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement.     You will be an experienced Finance Manager, ideally from an FMCG, manufacturing background with good commercial awareness and an understanding of batch / process flow manufacturing. This is a newly created role where you will be responsible for the development and implementation of commercial reporting and profitability analysis to fully understand major cost drivers.

    With strong IT proficiency you will be confident developing and building dashboards to provide reporting and analysis; experience of vlookup, pivots and macros and an understanding of how ERP systems feed data. Confident and articulate, you will be keen to ask questions and demonstrate a pro-active cross functional approach to your tasks. The key role of the Quality officer is to monitor compliance, report on metrics and improve the QMS system to meet the requirements of ISO 22000.

    Candidates for this position must possess:

    • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment (not construction);
    • Third level qualification in a relevant discipline;
    • An ability to develop lead and implement programmes in the EHS area;
    • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities;
    • Strong interpersonal communication influencing and presentation skills;
    • Business foresight: Ability to problem solve and present solutions in advance of issues;
    • An ability to develop lead and implement programmes in the EHS area.
