  • EHS Co-ordinator, Dairygold Food Ingredients, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork

    Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited is now pleased to invite applications for the position of EHS Co-ordinator.

    Reporting to the Group EHS Manager the EHS Coordinator will be based in Castlefarm, Mitchelstown and will work closely with the operations team to drive a safe working culture for both employees and contractors across their areas of responsibility by promoting high standards and compliance with Safety and Environmental policies and procedures, maintaining site licences and legal requirements. He / She will be recognised as the key business driver for all health and safety issues across their areas of responsibility and will also play a key role in managing all environmental issues on site.

    Core responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

    • Serve as the primary focal point for EHS Matters for the Society and act as point of contact for regulatory authorities;
    • Organize, schedule and complete EHS audits and track issues / actions arising;
    • Management and tracking to closure of all regulatory compliance actions;
    • Risk Management in all forms as it occurs in the business including emergency preparedness;
    • Organisation, provision ad monitoring of compliance with EHS Training plan / requirements;
    • Develop and maintain environmental registers, Environmental Management Plans, waste registers and complete Annual Environmental Reports at each site;
    • Complete additional duties and projects as may be assigned from time to time by the Group Environmental Health & Safety Manager;
    • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures as required to legal and best practice requirements;
    • Be flexible and dynamic with and ability to meet EHS challenges in an evolving work environment;
    • Ensure all EH&S accidents, incidents and near misses are promptly reported and thoroughly investigated. Identify appropriate corrective and preventative measures and closeout using CI tools.

    Candidates for this position must possess:

    • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment (not construction);

  • Quality Officer, Dairygold Food Ingredients, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork

    Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited is now pleased to invite applications for the position of Quality Officer on a 18 month fixed term contract.

    Reporting to the Site Quality Lead the QA Officer is responsible for maintaining and managing defined core elements of the quality assurance program for the Mallow site, to ensure compliance with internal standards, food safety standards and customer requirements. The QA Officer is a key support role to the site QA Manager and is recognised as a key player within the site team. The key role of the Quality officer is to monitor compliance, report on metrics and improve the QMS system to meet the requirements of ISO 22000.

    Core responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

    • Develop policies and procedures and risk assessments to meet the requirements of FSSC 22000, including HACCP and maintain in electronic format in paradigm system;
    • Co-ordinate the site audit plan and report on the close out rate for non-conformances;
    • Document sampling and testing plans for the site;
    • In conjunction with site QA Manager – lead and facilitate customer and regulatory audits;
    • Coach management and operational staff on new standards, accreditation requirements and procedures;
    • Review data from environmental plan in relation to alignment of GMP and GMP policies as required.

  • Laboratory Technician,Food Ingredients Division,Mallow, Co. Cork, Ireland

    Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited is now pleased to invite applications for the position of Laboratory Technician.  Reporting to the lab manager/supervisor, the Laboratory technician is responsible for testing samples accurately in a timely manner and reporting of results using the IT systems provided.

    Core responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

    • Carry out chemical and microbiological testing;
    • Perform tests as directed by the core milk schedule;
    • Contribute to the effectiveness and improvement of the quality management system;
    • Comply with the requirement of the ISO 17025 standard as defined by procedures;
    • Complete all day to day activities as allocated by the laboratory manager/supervisor;
    • Carry out audits of laboratory systems;
    • Maintain test equipment to ensure its continuing fitness for purpose;
    • Calibration of laboratory equipment and involvement in the set-up, validation and running of new laboratory equipment, including new techniques;
    • Provide internal and external customers with a first class level of service;
    • Provide training to other laboratory personnel when and if required;
    • Maintain the currency of all test logs;

    The primary focus and the key responsibilities will include, but not be limited, to the following:

    FIELD & INSIDE SALES & ADVISORY

    • Learning about crop nutrition and health, trace elements/ mineral deficiencies, crop varieties, disease, pest and weed identification.
    • Crop walking- advising farmers on actions needed in order to maximize profits from crops.

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate logging of samples, selection of samples for analysis and ensuring tests are carried out in an accurate and timely manner using only approved in-house laboratory methods and producing customer reports to the ISO17025 standard.
    • Carrying out analytical and chemical analysis on feed products, cereals, herbage, soil and water samples in a timely manner to meet customer deadlines.
    • The analysis to be carried out in accordance with defined methods to accredited laboratory standards; achieving and retaining ISO 17025 Accreditation for the Laboratory.
    • A basic understanding of all scientific calculations is required.
    • Have a sufficient knowledge of reagents/chemicals to understand the consequences of exposing them to other elements e.g. air, water or other reagents/chemicals.
    • Have a sufficient knowledge of the interactions between acids and bases and be able to prepare various normalities and strengths and test same.
    • Understand the principles of all calibrations and carry out the calibration schedule required.

    • MAINTENANCE
    • Working with the Maintenance Manager and team in the Dairygold Quality Feeds Production facility to plan and organise key resources to create and sustain a high performance team to drive overall plant performance.
    • Organisation and coordination of the Maintenance Stores (i.e. maintenance, ordering, logging of spare parts for the running of the plant).
    • Assisting in controlling the maintenance work with the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
    • Adhoc Project work throughout the Production and Quality Facility as determined by the demand of the Feed Industry.
    • This position would suit a technically, mechanically minded Agri Student with a passion for machinery, equipment and performance.

  • DFI Logistics Lead, Food Ingredients Division, Mitchelstown, Cork, Ireland

    Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited is now pleased to invite applications for the position of DFI Logistics Lead based Mitchelstown. The DFI Logistics lead will be responsible for the effective management of the transport & logistics planning functions for DFI, with direct responsibility for operations of Milk Transport, and General Haulage within the Supply Chain farm to factory function. This person will be responsible for managing these processes operationally & implementing the identified strategies for the area.

    • Assist in the development and implementation of an overall strategy for the business relating to rationalisation of DFI General Haulage and Milk Collection at all levels;
    • Manage the segregation of milk ex-farm for particular products/customers;

    The Society wishes to invite applications for the vacancy of Agri Logistic Manager. The Agri Logistic Manager will be responsible for the effective management of the Transport & Logistics planning functions for the Agri-Business Division. He/she will partner with the Retail and Mill & Grain teams to develop, lead and execute the required strategies and initiatives to fully deliver the required services to support the Business and its stakeholders.   • QC Sample Management Technician, Food Ingredients Division, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork

    Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited is now pleased to invite applications for the positions of QC Sample Management Technician, in our Central Laboratory in Mitchelstown within the Dairy Food Ingredients Division.

    Purpose; Reporting to the Central Lab Manager, the Sample Management Technician is responsible for the integrity of samples transported between Production facilities and the lab, thus ensuring accurate results are reported to the operations and quality functions to enable compliance with food safety, legal and customer requirements.

    Key Responsibilities;

    Organisation and transport of in process and finished product samples to and from production sites and the laboratories

    Liaising with contracted couriers on sample integrity

    • Responsible for sample integrity from site to lab including chain of custody for temperature dependant samples
    • Aseptic handling of samples
    • Attend weekly VM team meetings
    • Participate in continual quality improvement and problem resolution.
    • Report, record and participate in investigations non-conformances.
    • Creating and delivering training packages to laboratory/Production personnel.

  • Factory Planner, Food Ingredients Division, Cheshire, UK

    DFI UK are now actively recruiting for a Factory Planner.  With a £80m+ spend on raw materials and 400t of factory production capability, effective forecasting, planning and scheduling are paramount at DFI Crewe. With over 300 SKUS across 7 production lines, ensuring the right product is available and produced to meet customer expectations is essential.

    Reporting to the Planning Manager, as one of two Factory Planners working rotating shifts (6am-3pm / 1pm-10pm Monday to Friday) you will be responsible for preparing daily and weekly production schedules.  Working closely with all Operational departments you will keep abreast of orders and amends, raw material availability, production progress and transport to ultimately deliver on time in full to our valued customers.

    Key activities will include:

    • Prepare daily and weekly production schedules
    • Optimise production runs in relation to changeovers, waste, labour and raw material

  • Engineering Manager, Food Ingredients Division, Cheshire, UK

    To drive engineering support and the highest standards, we have an opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to ensure building, plant and equipment is serviced, maintained and operationally safe.  As a member of the site management team, you will have accountability for facilities and standards including control of contractors and permits to work.

    DFI Crewe formats 18,000t grated and sliced cheese annually. With significant investment into both production areas, robust engineering support is vital to minimise downtime, enhance machine performance and improve efficiencies.     Ö        Control of contractors, permits to work, insurance and H&S requirements

    Ö        Maintain, update and communicate relevant Engineering policies and procedures

    Ö        Forecast annual budget for engineering and manage activity and stock levels within budget

    Ö        Support capital investment projects and project manage defined projects as required

    Ö        Continually assess and identify improvement initiatives to support engineering development

     Who are we looking for?

    With significant post apprenticeship experience, ideally in food and a BTEC or C&G qualification (Electrical Systems, Electrical Control, Faultfinding and Mechanical Engineering) you will also have experience of developing TPM and applying lean manufacturing and CI.

    With a strong focus on developing excellence you will lead your team to optimise machine performance. You will demonstrate enthusiasm and forward planning skills with a drive to resolve problems quickly and efficiently.

    Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited is now pleased to invite applications for the position of Asset Care Planner & Scheduler. Reporting to the Site Maintenance Manager, He/She will focus on implementing an Asset Care Program that is in line with the needs of the Clonmel Rd Cheddar Site and all the associated facilities and utilities.

    Core responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

    • Planning, organising, managing and developing key resources within the Asset Care Team to create and sustain a high-performance work team to drive overall plant performance;

    • Manages Weekly Planning Meeting for the site.

    • Responsible for the effective & systematic application of work planning, scheduling and reporting procedures required to ensure efficient execution of work.

    • Responsible for controlling the maintenance work within the Computerised Maintenance Management system

    • Responsible for achieving planned KPIs and displaying daily & weekly performance reports in Work Order Completion/ Work Order Detail / MTBF.

    • Analysis of all work orders and creation of follow up work orders

    • Drive a program to implement all Spare Parts on the CMMS system INFOR.

    • Direct maintenance GEMBAs to assess work requirements/H&S issues on the site

    Candidates for this position must possess:

    • Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline (Maintenance, Engineering, Asset Strategy)/Trade qualified (Mechanical/Electrical);

    • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;

    • Structured and organized individual with the ability to influence others at all levels in the organisation;

    • Looking for an energetic person, willing to work on own initiative and as part of a team;

    • A positive, can-do, resilient and flexible attitude;

    • Knowledge & experience of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management systems) & EAM (Enterprise Asset Management systems, INFOR.
