    The ideal candidates will possess the following skills:


    • Be customer focused with a proven track record of striving to meet customer requirements;
    • Have experience of operating in a Cheese Production Process and/or a similar manufacturing facility;
    • Be capable of working on their own initiative;

  • HR & Payroll Administrator, Food Ingredients Division, Crewe, United Kingdom

    The HR team at DFI UK manage a wide range of activities from recruitment to payroll and pensions administration, from training to policy development and from internal communications to resource planning. It’s a small, busy team, ensuring compliance with legislation and the continuous development of internal systems and processes which provide the highest levels of service and support to colleagues and managers alike.

    We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrator to join the team and become fully involved in key aspects of HR activity for our sites at Crewe and Leeds.

    Key Responsibilities will include:

    • Manage accurate inputting of all payroll data and liaise with colleagues and HMRC to resolve payroll queries as necessary
    • Co-ordinate all starter, leaver and employee change procedures; issue and revise employment contracts, set up and maintain Personnel Files, record Induction and Probation reviews
    • Maintain HR data; produce weekly and monthly HR Statistics and KPI information

  • Development Technologist, Food Ingredients Division, Leeds, United Kingdom

Driven by innovation and an ability to convert R&D concepts into award winning products that provide failsafe solutions to our customers, we have ambitious plans to drive this growth into 2018 and beyond.  To this end we have a programme of significant investment in our plant and systems infrastructure and a commitment to add to our talented R&D team. An opportunity now exists for a Development Technologist to support this growth within our functional soft and liquid cheese product range.

    You will be responsible for managing the formulation and creation of new products from concept stage through to pilot and factory trial in line with our R&D strategy. You will work with the site management team to develop our current recipes ensuring that we maximize plant efficiency whilst optimizing the product. You’ll oversee the samples process onsite ensuring that we proactively advise customers on product functionality to deliver on commercial opportunities.

    The role will be strongly focussed on ensuring our systems and processes deliver optimum quality products that meet customer’s flavour and functionality requirements. As such you will work with R&D and Operations to manage the handover procedure from R&D stage to full production and develop relevant SOPs for new products. And, as a business driven by innovation, you will work closely with R&D and Site to identify areas for improvement within the plant; validating equipment suitability, managing trials on new equipment and supporting launch of new products.

    Analytical and organized, you will have good knowledge of Pasteurisation, Homogenisation, incubation & cooling along with an understanding of cheese composition. You will have a detailed understanding of dairy protein chemistry, functional ingredients and cultured/fermented milk products, either through a relevant Degree level education or through industry experience. You will have experience within an NPD function, either with retailers or B2B, and you’ll possess a genuine interest in meeting customer needs through developing your expertise with a ‘behind the scenes’ product range.   • National Account Manager, Food Ingredients Division, United Kingdom

    With an existing account portfolio of some of the biggest blue chip names in the industry you will be a key member of the UK commercial sales team targeted to deliver and where possible exceed our projected growth targets.

    Previous account management and sales experience in the dairy or B2B ingredients sectors is essential.     Core responsibilities for this role include:

    These are the core responsibilities associated with your role for which you will be held accountable:

    1. Customer – Quality voice for new product development and innovation (Stage Gate & Spec review meetings)

    – Owner of Quality management and Food Safety System

    – Lead Customer Audits and ensure all complaints are dealt with on a timely manner

  • Front Line Manager, Food Ingredients Division, Crewe, United Kingdom

    As the number one cheese ingredient solutions supplier to the UK’s major food manufacturers, retailers and food service customers we’ve achieved rapid, double digit growth over the last five years and ambitious plans for this to continue. ‘AA’ Grade BRC accredited, we’ve invested heavily in systems and plant infrastructure with high speed grating and slicing capability producing over 400mt weekly.

    Our Production shift teams are responsible for ensuring that we create quality product that is Right First Time. We now have an opportunity for a Front Line Manager to look after a team of approximately 10-15 colleagues to deliver against all operational KPIs including labour, waste, OEE, GMP and RFT. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, as FLM you’ll be responsible for driving, monitoring and reporting on all your shift targets.

    Key activities will include:

    • Managing your shift resources to ensure production output targets are met

    Who are we looking for?

    You’ll have relevant FMCG supervisory / Team Leader experience, ideally in a fast-paced, Food Manufacturing environment. You will be fully conversant with the technical standards and controls required to meet rigorous food safety requirements and will evidence how you have developed your team to ensure full understanding and compliance.

    It is essential that you are system-orientated, with experience of Oracle/ERP/WMS or similar and you will evidence using these internal systems to maintain accurate records and provide regular performance data. Experience of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques such as 5S and Visual Management would be an advantage.

    As FLM you will be confident and able to manage your own workload and decisions. You will possess good communication skills and a willingness to take responsibility for your own area. You will also work closely with Planning, Technical and Engineering to ensure that your team delivers optimum performance.

  • Shift Manager, Food Ingredients , Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, Ireland

    Shift Manager, Castlefarm, Co Cork

    Reporting to the Production Co-ordinator, the Shift Manager will work with the Plant Manager at our Castlefarm, Mitchelstown Powder Manufacturing Site to achieve Site targets and meet and exceed customer expectations. He/She will co-ordinate and control all the activities within their respective teams to meet production targets, quality, environmental, maintenance, people, H&S & cost objectives on a day to day basis and in doing so will be a key person in driving shift and site performance.

    Core responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

      • Manage a team of operators ensuring that the resources are managed to facilitate employee participation in any people development initiatives;
      • Actively manage the employee’s working hours and payment through the HR system;
      • Key role in driving and implementing continuous improvement in your area and continually improve communications through delivering effective workgroups, PSEs and the utilisation of all other relevant CI tools;
      • Promote a safety culture within the plant through leading by example and ensuring that all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to and EHS regulatory compliance standards are met;
      • Measure, monitor and control the key performance indicators that drive the site’s performance;
      • Key role in promoting a culture of excellence by driving compliance with Quality standards and conducting audits against key Quality parameters;
      • Co-ordinate Maintenance resources outside of office hours in line with business objectives;
      • Liaise with maintenance during office hours to address any issues that may compromise the optimisation of plant reliability to deliver the required volumes;
      • Control all production related activity in accordance with the company’s management system and environmental best practice.
