    Co-Op Super Stores are seeking to hire an experienced retail professional for Co-Op SuperStores, Parteen, Co. Clare. The Retail Sales Assistant will report to the Branch Manager and will work as part of a cohesive team to achieve maximum sales through the delivery of excellent customer service.

     

    Responsibilities for the successful candidates will include, but are not limited to, the following:

     

    • Delivering best in class service to our customers including expert advice on our range of products.
    • Dealing with all customer queries including telephone queries, in an efficient and professional manner.
    • Restocking display areas on a regular basis to ensure product availability at all times.
    • Maintaining the highest standards of store presentation and cleanliness including shop floor, yard, display areas etc.
    • Managing point of sale processes, including cash, card & credit transactions.
    • Adhering to policies and procedures for the security of cash and merchandise.
    • Participating in regular stock taking including daily cycle counting and stock counts.
    • Flexibility across a range of departments.
    • Product coding, pricing and updating of prices on goods for re-sales.

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Previous relevant experience is essential.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Purchasing Administrator (Fixed Purpose Contract)/Retail Division/Lombardstown/ Co.Cork

    The Society wishes to invite applications for the temporary fixed-purpose contract of Purchasing Administrator. Applications for this position are invited from energetic and ambitious persons who want to work in a successful, customer-orientated organisation. The successful candidate will report into the Retail Buyer.

    Applicants for this position must:

    • Possess a relevant purchasing and/ or business administration qualification.
    • Have previous role-related competence and experience in retail.
    • Be proficient in MS Office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of software including Oracle, CORE and other ERP systems are a distinct advantage.
    • Be proficient in using a business intelligence tool to interpret & analyse business performance data.
    • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with both internal and external bodies.

    Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Maintaining supplier purchasing catalogues and reviewing same on a monthly basis.
    • Maintaining supplier retail catalogues and reviewing same on a monthly basis.
    • Logging all price changes and updates approved by the Buyers.
    • Handling product queries from Branch Managers.
    • Support in maintaining and updating product descriptions, prices etc. on the company Retail web-site.
    • Monitoring and ensuring appropriate stock levels of core and seasonal stock.
    • Liaising with the Marketing Department on promotional products and prices.
    • Setting up promotions and providing support for promotional activity.
    • Identifying any obsolete product codes ­and liaising with the Lead Buyers to approve deletion.
    • Liaising with suppliers on behalf of the purchasing team.
    • Developing and maintaining supplier margin reports for the relevant buyer.
    • Co-ordinating diaries with suppliers and other internal departments.
    • Administration duties including preparation of reports, presentations and business correspondences.

    Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited is now pleased to invite applications for the position of Cheese R&D Technologist (Maternity Leave Cover)

     

    Background:

    This exciting opportunity offers a unique challenge to candidates who would like to be part of a growing dynamic team. The purpose of the role is maternity leave cover in R&D to support management of our cheese stage gate projects, across Cheddar and Speciality cheese in line with our business cheese strategy. The role will work closely with site operations and technical teams in helping deliver both New and Existing product developments across our cheese business.

    Core responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

    • Develop and evaluate innovation projects and processes to deliver the Dairygold strategy in line with customer and market requirements. Responsible for commercialisation of cheese innovation products and processes. Ensure all financials, yield, new ingredients validation is completed for new products and processes.
    • Manage and lead pilot, Moorepark, scale up and production trial plans working closely with other business functions building and co-ordinate production trial protocols for cheese innovation projects.
    • Develop a deep process, product and technical understanding of Dairygold’s cheese categories and plant capability across Cheddar and speciality. Provide cheese technical support where required across Dairygold’s business.
    • Develop relationships with commercial team and our key customer base and ensure an insight driven development approach. Develop new products and existing process/product improvement with key customers.
    • Involvement in Dairygold cheese projects to ensure products and processes deliver customer and market requirements.
    • Liaise with Regulatory and Compliance resources to ensure products, projects and recipes conform to current and future industry and target market standards. Work with key suppliers to ensure we have knowledge and understanding of market trends and novel ingredients to diversify our products.
    • Work with colleagues across the business to drive cheese innovation projects to project timelines.
    • Working with external research facilities and organisations to deliver projects in line with business expectations.

    Key Skills and Competencies;

    • Knowledge and experience of Lab/Pilot Plant Trial planning, operation and control.
    • Ability to plan, organise and manage production trials across multiple technology platforms.
    • Proven ability to manage projects with rapid resolution of technical issues as they arise.
    • Ability to progress projects through developments stages to successful launch.
    • Proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards NPD and process development with a proven record of delivery of results.
    • Experience and ability for knowledge transfer to bring gained knowledge to other parts of the business.
    • Strong communication and networking skills in order to liaise with multiple external organisations and customers.
    • Strong demonstrated technical knowledge across cheese portfolio is essential.
    • High level of customer focus and commercial acumen.
    • High level of initiative with strong planning, organisational skills and an ability to see projects through to completion is a pre-requisite.
    • Strong cross functional and people relationship skills with the ability to build credibility within the business and influence key stakeholders as required.
    • Team player with experience of delivering cross functional projects on time and within budget.
    • Excellent presentation skills.
    • Ability to work on own initiative.
    • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JMP).

    Candidates for this position must possess:

    • Third level degree, minimum BSc Food Science & Technology.
    • Ideally minimum 3 years industrial experience within a cheese facility and an understanding of relevant processes and technologies. Hands on process trial experience in relevant technologies. Strong cheese product and process technical knowledge.

  • Engineering Manager, Food Ingredients Division, Leeds, United Kingdom

    As the number one cheese ingredient solutions supplier to the UK’s major food manufacturers, retailers and food service customers DFI UK have achieved rapid, double digit growth over the last five years and have ambitious plans for this to continue.

    DFI Leeds is a highly automated manufacturing facility producing 9,000t soft and cultured dairy products annually. With a sophisticated SCADA operating system and significant investment into our plant machinery, robust engineering support is vital to minimise downtime, enhance performance and improve efficiencies. We pride ourselves on our BRC A Grade and ISO 14001 standards which we retain through maintenance of our site policies and strict adherence to Health & Safety requirements.

    To drive this engineering support and continue to develop our high standards, we now have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager. Reporting into the Operations Manager, this role will manage the Engineering team to ensure that building, plant and equipment is serviced, maintained and operationally safe. The role holder will be a key member of the site management team, with full accountability for the site’s facilities and Health & Safety standards including control of contractors and permits to work.

    Key Responsibilities will include:

    • Develop and implement a PPM schedule to ensure all plant and equipment is fit for purpose
    • Develop and drive a programme of TPM that supports efficiency gains and up-skills colleagues
    • Monitor and manage daily priorities of team of Shift Engineers
    • Monitor and ensure breakdown issues are resolved as quickly and cost effectively as possible
    • Record all weekly downtime, monitoring machine issues and closing out corrective actions
    • Control contractors, completing permits and observing insurance and H&S requirements
    • Maintain, update and communicate relevant Engineering policies and procedures
    • Forecast annual budget for engineering and manage activity and stock levels within budget Work closely with Shift Engineers and production to support with machine training
    • Support capital investment projects and project manage defined projects as required
    • Continually assess and identify improvement initiatives to support engineering development

    Who are we looking for?

    You will have significant post apprenticeship experience, ideally gained in food manufacturing and supported by BTEC or C&G qualification in an appropriate discipline (Electrical Systems, Electrical Control, Faultfinding and Mechanical Engineering). You’ll also have experience of developing a programme of TPM and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of lean manufacturing and CI.

    A clear and professional communicator with experience of successfully managing a shift team, you will be proactive in upskilling colleagues to optimise machine performance. You will demonstrate enthusiasm and forward planning skills with a drive to resolve problems quickly and efficiently. With a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, you’ll be comfortable recording and analysing data to present to peers and senior colleagues to drive improvements on site.
